National Dementia Strategy

Listening and Engagement exercise across North East, Yorkshire and Humber Region

Following the announcement of the development of the strategy, the DH has established a Dementia Programme Board to steer the project. In addition, an External Reference Group, chaired by Neil Hunt, Chief Executive of the Alzheimer's Society, has been convened with 3 working groups reflecting the themes of the strategy: improving awareness of dementia; early diagnosis and intervention; and improving the quality of care of people with dementia.

The DH asked the Care Services Improvement Partnership (CSIP) to lead an engagement and listening exercise in each region during January to March. This will feed directly into the development and implementation of the DH's Dementia Strategy that is due for publication in October 2008.You can read more about the strategy here (opens new window)
